The Real Madrid Foundation, in partnership with the Madrid Council and with the support of organisations such as El Corte Inglés, Asditex and CYP Brands, is once again carrying out the campaign En Navidad, ningún niño sin regalo (At Christmas, no child goes without a present). This charitable initiative benefits 2,000 children living in 11 protection centres and children's homes (where the Real Madrid Foundation has permanent projects), as well as children in public and private hospitals in the region, who received a visit from the players.

This initiative has been held since 2005 as part of the programme of social sporting activities that the Real Madrid Foundation, together with the Madrid Council, carries out on a permanent basis. Every season, over 700 children under the care of the public administration due to abandonment or family problems from 11 shelters take part in football or basketball in values programmes. This initiative also includes the FVN-Laguna Care hospital and the Los Llanos and Los Lauros dialysis centres of the Íñigo Álvarez de Toledo Renal Foundation.

Objectives

The reception centres temporarily take care and look after the education of children who lack an environment that can meet their biological, affective and social needs. Their main objective is to recover or find a suitable family environment. The Real Madrid Foundation works in centres for children with the Madrid Council to make sport a vehicle that facilitates their social integration.
