The Foundation's school in Bulgaria returns to face-to-face activity
Sixty vulnerable young people from Vidin are catered for with the support of the Friends of Sports Foundation.
The social sports school run by the Real Madrid Foundation in Vidin Bulgaria in collaboration with Friends of Sports Foundation since 2014, has returned to face-to-face activities following a two-year break due to the pandemic. The project got underway in 2014 in Vidin, one of Bulgaria's most challenged regions in educational and socio-economic terms, and is carried out using the council's sports facilities in order to help more than 60 young people from vulnerable backgrounds.
Aside from the weekly training sessions in football and values, the participants enjoy a range of educational and social activities. They also benefit from the provision of school materials, electronic devices, English and IT courses, employment advice sessions and workshops on sustainability and health, as part of the comprehensive project.
Training
In order to ensure the return to activities runs smoothly, the Real Madrid Foundation will carry out a training session for the coach-educators aimed at reinforcing concepts, resolving doubts and strengthening the use of the Real Madrid Foundation methodology, For a REAL Education: Values and Sport. The program helps to turn training sessions into comprehensive development training for children, beyond learning about the technical or tactical elements of football.
