Real Madrid Foundation receives recognition at 2023 Corporate Awards in the category of Philanthropy
These awards underline the contribution made by companies and entrepreneurs to the well-being of Spanish citizens.
The ambassador of the Real Madrid Foundation, Ricardo Gallego, attended the 3rd edition of the Corporate magazine awards to accept the prize in the category of Philanthropy awarded to our Foundation. These awards honour the most outstanding figures in economic and business life so far this century and this category specifically highlights the contribution made by companies and entrepreneurs to the well-being of Spanish citizens.
During the event, which took place at the CasaClub gastronomic-cultural space in Madrid, the efforts of the Real Madrid Foundation, which in the 2022-23 season organised 1,279 activities, programmes and socio-sporting projects in the fields of education, inclusion of vulnerable groups and development cooperation, were recognised. In all instances, sport is used in an instrumental way, while promoting the playing of sport and educational sport in 95 countries on five continents. The social impact generated by the Foundation's work, especially in children, is evidenced by the 98,505 beneficiaries and participants in the schools, campuses, clinics and socio-sports projects that integrate sports education with comprehensive care and training in values.
The aim of the Real Madrid Foundation is to use sport to improve people's lives, whatever their circumstances or abilities, by encouraging the educational values of team sport and promoting it as a tool for social intervention. The mission is to contribute to the integral development of individuals for the benefit of those who suffer from any kind of marginalisation, prioritising the inclusion of minorities, promoting respect for diversity and adapting sports practice to the requirements of people with functional or cognitive diversity.
