The social sports school of the Real Madrid Foundation in Cambodia, a project carried out in partnership with SAUCE in the Apostolic Prefecture of Battambang, continues to improve as a reference for inclusion and education through sports. The 2nd Disability Training Days, aimed at the wheelchair basketball school coaches, an initiative that began last season, has represented a significant step forward in providing access to sports for people with disabilities in the region.

The training, delivered by the team from the Real Madrid Foundation, brought together seven local coaches, including one woman, with the aim of continuing to strengthen the methodological knowledge necessary to ensure the educational and sports quality of the project. During the sessions, special attention was given to understanding the Foundation's model and its adaptation to the local reality, as well as designing inclusive proposals based on play, participation, and experiential learning. Additionally, several principles underpinning the methodology applied to wheelchair basketball were further explored.

A project that keeps growing
The group's progress was very positive, consolidating the work on values that began during the previous season. Thanks to this training, the coaches continue to acquire tools that allow them to provide increasingly tailored support to the participants' needs.

The 2025-26 season has been marked by significant advances in the project, including collaboration with the organization Girl Rising, which conducted four sessions aimed at adolescents to boost self-esteem, confidence, and future aspirations of the participants, as well as promoting healthy habits and reducing sedentary behavior. Additionally, a pilot activity integrated into the training sessions was launched, specifically targeting children residing in foster homes.
