The Real Madrid Foundation launched its first project in China in 2011 and has since educated more than 4,000 boys and girls in the positive values promoted by sport the Foundation's methodology "Por una educación Real: Valores y deporte" For a Real Education: Values and Sport. The institution runs various projects in the country that provide care for more than 500 children both at the social sports schools and clinics, which take place across the country in collaboration with Shanghai Veritas Culture & Development Co, the exclusive partner for the clinics held in the country.

In the social sport schools, run in conjunction with the China Youth Development Foundation in the towns of Jinzhai and Tong Liao, minors at risk from exclusion on account of their socio-economic circumstances learn about the positive values of team sports by playing football. This season has seen the Real Madrid Foundation and the China Youth Development Foundation roll out a programme that is run in a public primary school in Tong Liao, a town in the autonomous region of Inner Mongolia that comes under the framework of the extra-curricular activities run by the Xincheng School with the support of Mengniu.
The project is run in a largely agricultural and livestock region, with limited industrial development and where the majority of the population is of Mongol ethnicity. The children who attend the school in Jinzhai hail from social-economically disadvantaged homes and many of them come from rural mountainous areas and, as a result, during the school year they are put up in the boarding school.

In addition, thanks to the agreement struck last season with Shanghai Veritas Culture & Development Co. It is hoped that children all over China are able to take part in clinics throughout the country each year with a view to being able to offer the Real Madrid Foundation’s education in values methodology through sport and the high-performance clinic experience to a greater number of minors.
