Real Madrid basketball ambassador Felipe Reyes and the Community of Madrid's Director General of Sports, Alberto Tomé, brought to a close the IV International Congress For a REAL Education: Values and Sport.  The event, organised by the Real Madrid Foundation, took place at the Real Madrid City on 16 and 17 March. It was an in-person event for the more than 200 football and basketball coaches from the Foundation's domestic network. An online format was also available for all the teaching staff of the social sports schools in the international area and for professionals in education through sport who wished to participate in the congress; 3,000 people from 48 countries were connected live via Sport Values Academy TV.

Álvaro Arbeloa opened the congress, joined by the Deputy Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sport of the Community of Madrid, Daniel Martínez Rodríguez, and MadCup's CEO, José Ortiz. The event was attended by Ricardo de la Vega (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid), Nuno Leite (Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Portugal) and José César Perales (Universidad de Granada).

The main aims of the conference were:

• To continue exploring in depth the promotion and planning of educational values in sport initiatives.
• To assess gender equality as a key requirement in the implementation of sport during the school stage.
• To study the process of sports training from an holistic perspective.
• To consider practical proposals in football and basketball for the perceptual-cognitive development of young players.
• To learn about the outcomes of the educational-sports programme that the Real Madrid Foundation has been implementing over the years.

The organisation and structure of the congress comprised of conferences, workshops and presentations on examples of good practices developed in the field of sports initiation from an educational perspective.
