Butragueño launched the Foundation's clinics in Jerusalem
This summer, they will be carried out in cooperation with KULNA, Royal Jerusalem Football Club and with the support of the Ministry of Regional Cooperation and the Jerusalem Municipality.
Real Madrid's Director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueño, welcomed the president of Royal Jerusalem Football Club, Samer Abdelrazzak, and the senior project manager of Israel's Ministry of Regional Cooperation, Yaron Lior, to launch the third edition of the Real Madrid Foundation's educational clinics, taking place from 23 July to 18 August at two locations in Jerusalem. More than 450 boys and girls at each venue will be awarded a scholarship each week to receive football training and learn values from Real Madrid Foundation coaches, with the support of public institutions.
Butragueño acknowledged this support and stated that Jerusalem "is a meeting point of cultures and the perfect place where sport becomes a shared and universal language, an education tool promoting values and peace". Mr. Abdelrazzak explained that he was proud to be hosting the third edition of a clinic where children of different ethnicities come together in a peaceful environment thanks to their passion for football. Lior added that it has the participation of Palestinian, Israeli, Moroccan, Jordanian and children from different Arab countries for whom sport has become a tool for integration.
The Real Madrid Foundation's educational clinics in Jerusalem kicked off in 2019 and, come the end of this summer, around 6,000 children will have taken part in this first-class programme by the Real Madrid Foundation, which is held in more than 30 countries every year.
