Official Announcement: Txetxu Rojo Passes Away

Real Madrid Football Club, its President and its Board of Directors deeply regret the death of Txetxu Rojo, an Athletic Club and Spanish footballing legend.
As a player, Txetxu Rojo won two Spanish Cups with Athletic Club, where he played 541 games and scored 67 goals in 17 seasons. He remains Athletic Club's second most-capped player ever, after Iribar.
He was also capped 18 times for the Spanish national team.
During his coaching career, he managed Athletic Club, Real Club Celta de Vigo, Club Atlético Osasuna, Unió Esportiva Lleida, Unión Deportiva Salamanca, Real Zaragoza and Rayo Vallecano.
Real Madrid would like to express our condolences and our love and affection goes out to all his family and loved ones, to his teammates, to his clubs and to all his fans.
Txetxu Rojo has left us at the age of 75. May he rest in peace.
