Laso: “We'll have to play some good basketball right from the first minute”
“Breogán is competitive and performing to a really good standard this season,” explained the coach.
Pablo Laso sat down with the club's official channels to preview Sunday’s Endesa League Round 29 match-up between Real Madrid and Río Breogán 12:30pm CET. The madridista coach previewed the contest in the following terms: “It'll be a tough test. We’ll have to be prepared to play some good basketball right from the first minute. We’ll have to control the rebounds, do some good work defensively, be solid and not commit any turnovers”.
“Breogán is having a real standout season. They've just been promoted and play some good basketball. They've got players who know the league well and their new signings have adapted well. Haynes is performing excellently. Kalinoski is a threat on the outside. Their centers are powerful and capable of opening up the court. They’re competitive and are performing to a really high standard and indeed are battling to secure a playoff place. What's mor,e they played in the Copa del Rey and that speaks volumes of how they’re performing”.
Importance of other players
“Musa is a very important player for them, but his absence could well act as a motivator for the rest of the players who are performing to a very good standard, such as Quintela. Other players can come to the fore in these kinds of situations. Musa’s absence is a major one, but we've got to respect Breogán”.
