Laso: 'We needed to recharge our batteries and must now show we've benefitted from it in our games'
'There'll be a great atmosphere at the Palacio in a game against good opponents', added the madridista coach.
Pablo Laso spoke to the club's official media channels in the build-up to Real Madrid’s Endesa League Round 23 match-up against Bitci Baskonia Sunday, 6:30pm CET and the coach had the following to say: “The players have been training really well. It's allowed us to remind ourselves of some things and recharge our batteries. We've had the time to rest up and we've now got to go out and show that in our games”.
“We've gradually been welcoming injured players back. The feeling within the camp is that this break was good for us. We've been playing up to 12 or 15 games every four weeks. The team was a little bit exhausted and we needed to recharge our batteries and get back in the groove”.
Opposition
“Baskonia competed really well in its matches this week. They've had a mini-break themselves. They look fresh and are performing to a good standard. We’re back at the Palacio and there’ll be a great atmosphere against what are good opposition. It'll be a tough game”.
Baskonia’s key men
“They've got two players in Baldwin and Granger who create a lot for them on the outside. They’ve also got lots of shooters, with the likes of Fontecchio, Marinkovic, Peters and Giedraiti. That makes them a dangerous team. What’s more, they've got two very mobile centres in Enoch and Costello. They’re a very strong all-round team. They've had their issues with the calendar and injuries, but have managed to compete to a really high standard”.
