Laso: “We didn’t manage to control the game at any time in the second half”
“In the first half we could’ve opened up our lead, but their offensive rebounding kept them in the game”, said the coach.
Pablo Laso analysed the matchup between Real Madrid and Baxi Manresa, played at the WiZink Center: “Well done to Manresa for the victory. I don’t think we managed to control the game at any time in the second half. In the first half, they were better on the offensive rebound, which we struggled to dominate and we could’ve opened up our lead, but that kept them in the game. Now we must try to get players back as soon as possible, because we’ve got two more games on Tuesday and Thursday”.
“In the second half, offensively we didn't move the ball well, we didn't create plays, we were very stationary, we weren't making baskets and we were always chasing them. That's when Maye's run was decisive in opening the lead up and giving them the victory. When you have 12 assists and 19 turnovers, we had no sense of tempo and it created doubts. We were just playing in bursts”.
“To play well as a team, everyone has to contribute something. We need to be organised as a team and since Causeur's departure we’ve lost a lot of creativity, which he gave us, because he helped the point guards a lot and we’re finding it tough to have this organisation”.

“I hope we get some players back. I'm sure Thompkins will be, he's fine now. It's difficult with Abalde, but I hope to get Hanga back. Taylor and Causeur aren’t ready to start yet. We have a difficult injury situation to deal with. Let's see how we are tomorrow and see if we have some good news about getting a player back for this week's double-header”.
