Laso: “It was a fairly complete performance'
NEWS.
Pablo Laso and Fabien Causeur assessed Real Madrid's win over Baxi Manresa in the first game of the league quarter-final playoff. The coach was pleased with his team's performance: “Getting a playoff series underway with a win is always important, especially in a short series. In the first half we were really able to dominate the pace of the game on the basis of our rebound and then we played with that advantage in the second half. It's true the second period wasn't quite as strong as the first but we maintained our lead and economised our effort a bit".

“I would like to reiterate the efforts made by certain players who were still feeling slight injuries. It was important to manage that, aware that we'll have a totally different game in Manresa on Saturday. The team is in good shape but at the end of the day it's one game, a win. I feel like it was a fairly complete performance, especially in the first half and we have to believe in the series".

Game two
“We're going to Manresa and we know how tough it will be. They play with so much energy at their own place, there's a big atmosphere and I'm sure it'll be a very difficult game. We have to move on quickly and prepare for Saturday's clash".
Physical levels
“The team is in great shape physically. I have no issues in that sense. Juan Trapero is doing a great job. Beyond the injuries, there is general continuity and everyone who has had time on court has made contributions. That's the important thing".

Causeur: “It was important to start the series off with a win"
“It was important to start the series off with a win. We've been a bit low from a morale perspective in recent days but that's to be expected. The team are in great shape physically and we read the game well, assessing Manresa's strengths. We contained them really well. They're an aggressive team on the rebound, they defend very well and had already beaten us at home. We're 1-0 up, and we know it's going to be tough”.

Role in the team
“The work I do every day, looking after myself and giving it my all, have given me the opportunity to play as many games as I have here. I never thought I'd play at Real Madrid for so long and I hope I can be here for much longer. People know how much I love this crest and it's always been a dream for me to play here".
