Laso: “Fenerbahçe were far more aggressive'
NEWS.
Pablo Laso and Walter Tavares assessed the postponed Euroleague matchday 18 clash between Real Madrid and Fenerbahçe in Istanbul. The coach reflected: “They were far more aggressive throughout the game. They played very hard defensively and we were unable to match them. Our shooting percentages were poor and we tried to change things both in offense and defense, which helped, but if you don't match your opponents' energy, it's really tough. I'm not happy with many aspects of the game, but the defense was good".

“I'm not too worried when we win lots of games, nor when we lose. I know we have to improve and we didn't play well. Sometimes you win when you haven't played well and others, the opposite. We have a very demanding schedule and we have to turn our attentions to the next game - next up it's the Clásico at home and we have to be ready”.

Yabusele
“We were lucky that Yabusele was able to play. He's been carrying a virus which stopped him training this morning. Upon reflection, perhaps he shouldn't have played because he wasn't feeling right. He's having a great season but it was a tough night for him".

Tavares: “There are no excuses today”
“It's tough to play at a place like this against a team who are aiming to be up the top as well. Things didn't come off for us. We don't need to make excuses and we have to keep fighting, we have several games every week. We have to move on and keep improving so we can get back to winning ways".

“If you don't defend and impose yourself in the Euroleague, you won't win games. They did just that and the fans got behind them as well. We tried our best but we just couldn't do it today".
