NEWS.
Pablo Laso and Rudy Fernández assessed Real Madrid's win over Asvel at the WiZink Center on Euroleague matchday 30. The coach was pleased following the game: "Congratulations to the team on the win. It was a difficult game for us today. This morning we had 10 players available. The effort certain guys have put in to be able to play has been enormous and I'm proud of them because it wasn't an easy game to play. If you were to tell me I'd play a Euroleague fixture without Alocén, Causeur, Abalde, Taylor and Thompkins, I'd say we'd be cutting it fine but the team did a great job and we've taken a win that puts us in the playoff. We're among the best 8 teams once again and now we're looking to clinch home-court advantage”.

“It was a difficult game, we started off very well but then in the second and third quarters it was played more in their favour but Rudy's shooting and the sense of pushing that bit extra in the final quarter was enough to get us the win. I'm thrilled with the result and aware we have to get players back quickly now because there's another game on Sunday".

Praise for the team
“Rudy often has that but it goes unnoticed. He had his eye in today. Whenever he saw an advantage in a situation, he read it brilliantly. He gave us the boost we needed to believe in the win. His shooting and Llull's pace were key in breaking their rhythm and coming out on top".
Defense
“Our defensive efforts were commendable, we worked really well and restricted them to 58 points. It's very tough to leave a team on 0 points. Our solidity on the rebound and in defence can give us the edge. We needed that rhythm and it was important to understand that in the game. From that basis, we made the most of advantages in offense”.

Rudy: “We're in a good position to take home-court advantage”
“We knew they were a very physical team and we'd have to match them if we wanted to win it. We were very good in defense and in the final quarter we picked our shots better and posted some pretty good numbers. That allowed us to stifle their run from the start of the third quarter. We know how important it is to have home-court advantage in the Euroleague. We're in a good position and we have to keep working hard".

His individual display
“They went in for me today. I've had some pain in my wrist these last couple of weeks but thanks to the physios' treatment I came into the game feeling good and I was lucky enough to have my teammates find me today, I was on good form and I helped the team to the win”.

“It's an honour for me to wear this jersey, I've always said it and for as long as I'm in the team I'm going to give it my all. The support of the fans drives you on to keep working hard and keep winning games with the team".
