Heurtel: “We're treating it like a cup final'
'Breogán is a very strong team and we'll have to be focused', added Williams-Goss.
Thomas Heurtel and Nigel Williams-Goss spoke to the media ahead of the team's training session to preview the Copa del Rey opener against Río Breogán 9:30pm CET. The French point guard had the following to say:
“It's a different kind of tournament within the course of season. You've got to be ready for every game and every day. We have to treat each game as if it were a cup final. We have done well in previous editions and I hope we perform well this time round too. We’re really motivated to go out and win the games”.
“There are no favourites. We've got a really important game today and we’re going to treat it as if it were a cup final. Their most dangerous player is Musa, but they also have some other very good players. They’re a team that play with real character and have good spirit. It'll be a very tough game. We're just going to focus on ourselves. We’ll try and play our game, which is exactly what we’ve been doing since the start of the season”.

“There's no question about that. We haven't performed in some games and that sometimes happens. We're sitting top in all of the competitions that we're involved in. We’ve played a lot of games and have had a very tough schedule and faced some tricky match-ups. We're in good shape mentally and we'll have to see come the end of the tournament what sort of shape we’re in”.
Williams-Goss: “The team is really up for it”
“I'm really excited to be playing in this competition with Real Madrid and because this is the first time that I'm competing in it. We open our campaign tonight with a tough game and are aware that both teams will be competing for every ball. We;ll have to be really focused”.
“The team is really up for it. This competition represents a window within the season and it involves three games. Breogán is a very good team. They have players with experience and character. They're very strong together and really are a very good team. Musa is a great player and is having an incredible season”.
