Chus Mateo: 'Zunder Palencia are playing with immense enthusiasm'
'We like to feel that they are there, we play for them, so that they can enjoy our game” said the coach.
Chus Mateo spoke to the club’s press department ahead of the clash against Zunder Palencia, which will be played at the WiZink Center Sunday, 12.30pm CET: “They have just been promoted and are playing with immense enthusiasm. Their fans are right behind them and they'll be looking to impress them with a strong performance here in Madrid. They're going to come here with huge motivation to play against us and that's why we have to respect our opponents a lot, also because we have to respect the work we do every day.”
“We have to get used to recovering quickly from such intense games like the one the other day against Barcelona. It always drains the body a lot, it wasn't easy to score. Now we have to face Palencia, who will certainly come with all the enthusiasm in the world, which we also have, to show that they can continue to perform well.”
Mood in the camp after victory over Barça
“We won a tough game, it was by no means easy. We didn't play well but we came out on top against a Barcelona team that had only lost to us previously. It was really important to see that the fans are right behind us and cheer us on at all times; when we were 15 down it helped us to get back into the game and for us that's vital. I would like to thank them for always getting behind us in difficult moments and being there for us in the good times. We like to feel that they are there, we play for them, so that they can enjoy our game.”
