Chus Mateo assessed Real Madrid's clash with Unicaja on matchday three in the league Sunday, 12:30pm CEST. The coach reflected in the build-up: “We're expecting the best version of Unicaja. Whenever you go to Málaga it's tough. There's really pressure in the atmosphere, the fans really go for it. We have to head there with all the concentration in the world to deal with what will be a demanding game, it's going to require real effort and we have to make sure we don't lose many balls”.

“It was an incredible effort in Athens and perhaps some of the guys played a bit longer than they should have but it was a really tough game. Panathinaikos defended very aggressively, with lots of physicality, hands all over you. Obviously we've felt that fatigue but we're ready to play another game just the same. Abalde will travel to Málaga. We were keen to get him back following the injury".

Opposition
“It'll be nothing like the pre-season clash. Both teams have more match sharpness now. They have a load of new players in and they're trying to build a solid team which can help them remain competitive and fight on all fronts. They're a team that is still searching. Last time out in Europe, they beat Sassari, and they saw off Gran Canaria in the last league game with a stunning second half display".
