Chus Mateo: 'We have to go into it with energy, we can’t let Fuenlabrada grow into the game'
'It’s important for us to keep working hard and picking up wins ', added the coach.
Chus Mateo was interviewed on Realmadrid TV ahead of tomorrow’s clash against Carplus Fuenlabrada at the WiZink Center, on matchday six of the Liga Endesa Sunday, 12:30 pm. The coach had the following to say: “We have to go into the game with energy, we can’t let them grow into it and gain confidence. We’re playing in front of our fans and we have to put on a good display. They always forgive us for everything, proving we put a good shift in”.
“We have to be switched on right from the start, knowing what we are playing for. It’s a league match and we have the chance to stay up the top of the table. We have to keep working hard and picking up wins – this is really important for us right now”.
On the opposition
"They are a side who have won their last two games. They’ll be full of energy and confidence. They started the season badly, losing three games in a row, and they’ve had to change coach. But they’re a physical side, with some bug players, great shooters and good players on the pick and roll”.
“I’m sure their players will be fired up to convince their new coach that they’re the ones that should be on the court. They still play the same way, virtually, with the odd new thing from the new coach. But we have to focus on ourselves, rather than on the opposition”.
