Chus Mateo: “We have to be at our best physically and be competitive against Baskonia'
“We’re up against strong opposition and it’ll be tough”, said Deck ahead of the EuroLeague clash.
Chus Mateo and Gabriel Deck spoke to the club's official channels ahead of the Cazoo Baskonia-Real Madrid EuroLeague clash 19:00pm CET. The madridista coach had the following to say: “We’re looking forward to the game and we’re relishing the challenge of taking on a side that’s doing really well and has produced some top-level stuff in both competitions. We have total respect for them, and they’ve also won ten consecutive games. We’re up for the game and we hope we can get the win.”
“We have to play intelligently, be at our best physically and be competitive, like we were against Bilbao where we produced a top performance. We have to defend and attack well so there’s a balance at both ends. We have to show conviction in offence and make sure we run at the right times.”
Deck: 'We have to play at high intensity for 40 minutes'
'We’re up against strong opposition, who are doing really well, and on a tough court. It’ll be tough. We have to play at high intensity for 40 minutes because it’ll be a difficult game against a side that hits a lot of three-pointers and hits you on the counterattack. They also play at high intensity, and we’ll have to be at our best to stop them and then play our game in attack.”
