Chus Mateo: “We got to grips with the game courtesy of our defence”
NEWS.
Chus Mateo analysed Real Madrid’s victory at the WiZink Center over UCAM Murcia on matchday five of the Liga Endesa. The coach had the following to say: “UCAM Murcia went into the game in good form, they worked hard defensively and it's hard to score points against them. We weren't outstanding in the first half, but we managed to get to grips with the game through defence and rebounding. Both teams gave it everything they had. It wasn't easy for us in this game after visiting Istanbul, but we got another win.”

“The good news is that Tavares is back to his best, Poirier has had some extraordinary games. Deck has also had a few minutes in which he's been outstanding. We're recovering the pieces so that the team can perform well.”

Model of play
“We're a team that runs and we play a lot of possession. It's risky because we can lose more balls. But the quality of the players means that we can make things productive for the whole team. I'm very pleased with the rhythm we found in the game, but we can't think we're doing something extraordinary.”
