Chus Mateo: “To beat Milan we have to control the pace of the game very well'
“We've had a great start, but it doesn't mean anything. We must try to win more games”, said Deck.
Chus Mateo and Gabi Deck spoke about the the Euroleague round four game against EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, which will be held at the WiZink Center Thursday, 8:45pm CEST. The Madrid coach said: "The team is playing well and we are hoping to compete against a team that is one of the favourites to be at the top of the Regular League. We will have to do everything we can to beat them".
"Milan are building their game around five or six players. It's an experienced team, with top quality players who know the competition like Pangos and Mirotic. We have to control the pace of the game very well to have a chance of winning".
Group effort
"We're doing well because we're working hard. Each player who goes out on the court leaves nothing out, but we can get better. I would like us to start well and finish the season well. We have to work hard every day, in every training session and in every game".
Teamwork
"The work that the team has put in is very commendable because they bring their individual quality to the service of the team. My players understand that in order to go far they have to give everything for the team. The only thing that they are interested in is winning".
Dynamics
"We're only just getting started and we've won 10 games, but that doesn't mean anything yet. We have to build momentum and we're building it through winning. When we're not having a good period, I expect us all to pull together to take the team forward. We have found a very positive dynamic early on".

Deck: 'The team is having fun'
'We're recovering from the last game, but the team is doing well. We're happy with the win against Zalgiris. It's now time to focus on the next game, which will be tough. I'm getting better every day and I'm happy to be back in the team. I want to continue like this'.
'The team is having fun and performing well at both ends of the court. Milan will come here looking to win. We have to concentrate on what we do and try to get the best result. The Euroleague is a difficult competition and I hope we're up to the task'.
WiZink support
'The support of the fans is an advantage for us and we'll be looking to do well at home to prove that to them. We've had a great start, but it doesn't mean anything. We must carry on working hard and try to win more games'.
