Chus Mateo: “The team battled until the end”
'We were on the verge of winning a very even game', explained the coach.
Real Madrid coach Chus Mateo talked after the second game in the final against Barça at the Palau: 'We're not going to deceive ourselves, we're losing 2-0. We came close and we were closer today than we were on Friday, but we didn't succeed'.
'It was a very even game. We played well, anyone could have won. It's a fine line between winning and losing. We could have won by doing exactly the same thing. We're now focused on the third game. I'm happy and proud and we fought until the end. We will be thinking about what's next from that point on. We've hard work and we've fought.
Against the odds
'That means nothing to me. Statistics are there to be broken. Sometime they're broken. We'll try to produce good basketball and focus on the next game'.
