Chus Mateo: “The first and second quarters were high quality'
“It was a good game all-round and we're happy to have picked up another win”, explained the coach after the victory over Panathinaikos.
Chus Mateo assessed Real Madrid's win over Panathinaikos on Euroleague matchday 22: "The first and second quarters were very high quality. The concern at half-time was that we might believe the game was over. We have to consider the fact we have another game on Friday and it's impossible not to think about that".
"We put on a fantastic first-half performance where we managed to dominate the game in offense and defense, showing good aggression on our shots and building up a good lead. Panathinaikos were playing at their own pace and that rubbed off on us a bit in the second half. It was a good game in a general sense, although we weren't great from three and we didn't get any blocks. We're happy to pick up another win and carry on".
