“We're heading to a difficult court and we'll have to dig in if we want to win there', said Causeur in the build-up to the game.
Chus Mateo and Causeur spoke to the press in the build-up to the match between Monaco and Real Madrid on Euroleague matchday 22 Friday, 7:00pm CET. The coach assessed the encounter: "We're coming up against one of the toughest sides in the competition. They may well be the Euroleague's surprise package but if you look at their squad, you see they are packed with top quality players".
“We have to understand the pace of the game that we need to deliver there. We can't lose many balls, because they're a team who really punish you on the turnover, and we'll have to close out the offensive rebound well because that's where they are very strong”.
Causeur: “Winning there would be worth twice as much in the table”
“Monaco are sitting high in the table so a win for us, especially there, would be worth twice as much and would be a big step forward in the classification. We know they are a seriously tough team at their home court, they're very athletic and have big point-scorers, so I'm expecting a difficult game that will be hard-fought from minute one".
“They'll come out full of energy and we know we're heading to a special court, different to what we're used to, where it will be hard to take a win. Every team who has played there this year has struggled and so we'll definitely have to dig in if we want to win it".
