Chus Mateo: 'It's the first final of the season and we have to be ready.'
'We had a game plan and we did a great job as a team,' Musa explained.
Chus Mateo and Musa appeared at a press conference to assess Real Madrid's victory over Barça in the Endesa Super Cup semi-finals. The coach said after the game: 'We only lost the first quarter and then we came back and won the next three. From the second quarter onwards, we got better and in the second quarter we made a difference that broke the game open. We played well collectively, rebounding well and being aggressive offensively. I want to thank the team for their effort and wish Brizuela a speedy recovery.'
'We did a very good job as a team. For me it's very important that Musa defends well. He has been able to defend Kalinic and Parra and did a very good job for the team, rebounding, defending and scoring. He has a lot of ability and I appreciate his effort and that of the whole team defensively.”
'Although there are players who have scored more than others, they have all done an extraordinary job. The important thing is to be a unit. If Musa hadn't score points today, someone else would have. We have to keep working day by day like we did last year and it's that teamwork that has to stand out. Tavares was really good and I'm glad he's still at the level he’s at. It's a pleasure and I can only be thankful to have such good players. They have all been phenomenal.'
Demanding
'We played an acceptable game for the moment we are in. It's par for the course, I was expecting ups and downs. It's an official tournament and it's very close and the players have different rhythms and we have to bring them up to the same pace. It will take us a while. Hopefully we'll win the final tomorrow even if we don't play the best game in the world. We demand to win at the beginning, in the middle and at the end. It will be a very difficult game against either of the two who are at a great level, but if we put ourselves in and do a good job at the back we will have our chances.'
Campazzo
'He’s easy to love and he's an excellent person. He left his mark in Murcia. Today he put in a brilliant performance and the effort he puts into every ball is admirable, the feeling he transmits defensively, the grit and the heart he has that he transmits to the team. We're very happy to have him and he was an important factor in the win, just like the rest of his team-mates. I’m very happy for him.'

'I have very good players, a team with spirit, personality and the will to win. I transmit my ideas. They know what it means to want to win games and they don't want to leave anything behind and that is appreciated in every game. We realise the importance of winning against a team as good as Barça but tomorrow we will have another opponent just as good. The game against Barça is over and there is only one game and that's how we have to approach it.'
Hunger for titles
'We have to keep up our hunger, keep playing the way we play and bring out the talent we have. We can play better for longer, prolong the good periods. We have some brilliant moments and we have to be more consistent and more solid. There's a long way to go. Tomorrow is the first final of the season and we have to be ready to play against an opponent that will make things very difficult for us.'
Musa: 'We have the chance to win another title'
'It was a great team effort against a great opponent like Barca, but we had a game plan and we knew what we had to do today. A Clasico is always a tough game, but we were very good. The Super Cup is a tournament I like a lot. We won it last year and we have the chance to win another title tomorrow.'
'I'm very happy to be at Real Madrid and in another final with this team. I talk to Chus Mateo about my contribution. I know that in attack I can contribute a lot but it's very important to be tough in defence. I always help the team as much as I can.'
Concentration
' I've worked a lot on my concentration this summer and I'm ready for anything in the game. I missed the first three shots but I made them in the second half. The important thing is to win, not individual performances.'

'He's an incredible player. We're very lucky to have him in the team. He's very intense, with great vision, he makes us play better and it's very easy to play with him and he's going to be very important for us this season. He's an intelligent player, quick and creates a lot of play.'
