Chus Mateo: “It wasn't easy to beat Olympiacos and I'm thrilled with the win”

Real Madrid coach Chus Mateo assessed the team's 71-77 victory over Olympiacos on the road: “It wasn't easy and I'm thrilled with the win. Scoring from the outside was vital at certain moments and we improved on the rebound in the second half. Deck and Hezonja took 19 between them. It's important that we help our big guys take defensive rebounds."
"Sometimes the points don't depend on whether or not you shoot well but on the number of possessions. Our shooting percentages were good, we didn't manage lots of assists but it's never simple against Olympiacos. We got the win with 77 points because I'm sure there were fewer possessions. The pace isn't the same against Olympiacos and the team that sets the pace usually wins it."

“Playing against Olympiacos is never easy. They're a great team in defense and they don't give you any easy points, they don't tend to concede many and they cut out the assists; we knew that. They're different to us in offense too, they tend to play a bit slower."
