Real Madrid coach Chus Mateo analysed Euroleague game 27 against Panathinaikos: "When we were playing badly in the second quarter, conceding 13 turnovers, they started to grow and believe they could beat us. They deserved it and they played better than us, and we have to keep working."

"We can't make excuses about the international fixtures. They also had players out like us. But today we weren't good, we lost a lot of possession and there were moments when we had no chance of defending their counter-attack because we gave balls away on the front line. We can't afford to do that because we're a team that needs to look after the ball, because we like to play a passing game. We weren't able to play well in offence. When we were behind, in defence, we were able to compete but it was too late because they believed they could win".
