Chus Mateo and Alberto Abalde analysed Real Madrid‘s win over Panathinaikos at the WiZink Center. The coach said after the game: "We're just starting the competition and we have to gradually find our feet and the ability to understand what we want as a team and what we want to play for. There are a lot of new developments: players who have left and others who have come in. You can't do it overnight, but a win against the European champions proves that you can beat anyone."

"I'm very happy because we won thanks to a great team effort. We clearly identified where the game was going. We only committed four turnovers, and that, against Panathinaikos, is very important because they have players with a lot of quality who, at any moment, can wake up and turn the game around. But we did a good job."

Home
"We have to start winning, and winning at home is always important. We'll end up winning at home and away, but we have to start somewhere. Today was a good game with a good collective feel against a tough opponent, and that's the way to keep on winning. However, we have to turn the page and forget about today's game. It seems that losing hurts us too much. We can't rest on our laurels when we win either. We're going to keep working."

Abalde: "We were very consistent"
"We all have to take a step forward after a bad start. It was important to win today against a tough opponent. We also connected with our fans today, and that was really crucial. We're content and we're going to try to use this energy for everything that's to come."

Pride
"It was an important challenge, we needed to have a good game, especially the way we played. We were consistent for most of the game. There is room for improvement, but we have to focus on continuing in this vein."
