Chus Mateo: “The team did a good job”

Chus Mateo analysed Real Madrid‘s victory over Partizan in the second round of the Euroleague. The coach described the game played at the WiZink Center: ‘In the second half we improved in defence. In the first half they shot too easily. I think we made a big effort after the break to counter their shooting. They kept making shots against us because they're a good team on the perimeter, but we did a good job with all the players who came on.'

'Everyone contributed and in the end, we realised that when you're playing these tough games, sacrificing, trying, and having confidence in the solidity of our team is what allows you to run and to get out of defence. We have to understand that's what our basketball is all about.'

‘We don't know yet. We'll see what happens but we have to adapt. We don't usually make excuses in any case.'
