Chus Mateo: “We're not playing as we'd like"

Chus Mateo spoke to the media at the WiZink Center to assess the match between Real Madrid and Fenerbahce: “We didn't start the game in the way we wanted. Fenerbahce's defense really hurt us when they started to change it up. We were unable to read it."
“They caused all kinds of problems for our offense. I think the greatest problem was going forward, we were too static and lacked fluidity. It feels like this year, the fluid nature of our game last year has deserted us a bit. That has an impact. It's easier for them to run around you, which is what happened today."
“We're not happy with our performance levels, nor how we are playing and we have to assess where we're making mistakes. We have to react because time is moving on and we're not playing as we'd like. We're not finding good form in some of our players who I'm sure can drive into the paint in the way we managed to do last year. We have to find other ways to exploit them."
