Chus Mateo: “We have a few very intense weeks coming up and we have to be ready"
“We have to keep this going because we have a couple of very tough games against Valencia Basket and Baskonia,” said Abalde following the win over Coviran Granada.
Chus Mateo and Alberto Abalde assessed Real Madrid's win over Coviran Granada on matchday 32 in the League. Following the buzzer at the WiZink Center, the coach reflected: “We have got what was a difficult win, especially given what they're playing for. They're fighting to avoid relegation and when a team is in that position, they play with real energy and desire. We managed it well."
“We have a few very intense weeks coming up and we have to be ready for what's to come, it will be really difficult. We'll be in the top two in the league and now we'll try to make the most of what we've already achieved."
Abalde: “We have to keep this up, we've got two tough games left”
“We knew it would be a difficult game because Granada have so much to play for. Every team is fighting to reach its goals. Clinching top spot might not seem so important right now, but ultimately, it can help to decide the league title. We have to keep this going because we have a couple of very tough games against Valencia Basket and Baskonia.”
“I try and work hard all the time. My mentality is the same and I'll keep working to contribute to the team and do my bit. You always want to feel involved, an important part of the group. I'm always ready to fight for this team."
