Today marks the 25th anniversay of Real Madrid's fourth European Cup Winners' Cup. The team, managed by Obradovic and featuring current coach, Pablo Laso, ran out comfortable 78-64 winners over Mash Verona in the final played in the Cypriot city of Nicosia. Herreros 19 points, Arlauckas 18 and Bodiroga 17 and seven assists paced the madridistas to victory.
Real Madrid dominated from start to finish and headed into the break with a six-point buffer 36-30. However, Obradovic's men really pulled away in the second half to establish an advantage of over 10 points that they managed to maintain to claim the crown.
