The madridistas Sergio Rodríguez and Sergio Llull were honoured at the IV Spanish Basketball Gala which was held at the Castillo de Gibralfaro in Málaga. The Canarian point guard picked up the Best National Player award in recognition of his outstanding season, where he was instrumental in Real Madrid's eleventh European Cup triumph in Kaunas and he spearheaded the historic comeback against Partizan in the playoffs. He also lifted the Endesa Super Cup trophy and surpassed 500 games with our team in May.
Meanwhile, Sergio Llull scooped the award for the Best Male Basket. The captain hit the game-winning impossible shot in the EuroLeague final over Olympiacos' giant man Fall with three seconds left to win the European Championship.
