Real Madrid kicked off the final month of the year with their eleventh League victory over Río Breogán to stay top of the table thanks to a two-win lead over second place. Chus Mateo's team grew into the game and delivered a sublime second and third quarter that saw them go +30 (51-21). The team went on to record their largest win of the season (+33) as well as their best defensive display (58). Musa (21) led seven players in double-digit PIR, with a special mention for Alocén (10 points) and academy graduate Hugo González (12). Campazzo made his 300th Real Madrid appearance.

The team returned to the warmth of the home fans following two EuroLeague away days and Chus Mateo made changes, resting Sergio RodríguezRudy Deck, while Yabusele missed out with injury. Causeur was back though, having become a father, and Alocén started for the first time this season.

Madrid take the initiative
The second quarter was a completely different story. The madridistas' second line, more physical with CampazzoHugo GonzálezLlullAbaldeHezonja and Poirier, brought much needed energy and changed the dynamics of the clash. The intensity improved in defense and the visitors quickly began scoring less freely. In offense, we closed out the rebound near our hoop and began to dismantle Río Breogán with swift transitions. Hezonja (7 points and 4 rebounds), Musa and Poirier spearheaded a 17-3 run (24-9 in the quarter), from minute 13 to 20, that took the scores to their maximum gap so far (41-28).

The madridistas were purring now and in the third quarter, it was Alocén (9 points), Causeur (8) and Musa (6) who picked up the mantle. Our team was controlling the game and aside from the odd Río Breogán reaction through Juan Fernández (their top performer), it was a case of total dominance. It was a matter of time before the game was over and as the minutes ticked by, the result soon became clear. Another impressive 27-12 run in this ten-minute period took the lead to  +28 (68-40, min.30).

Game time for the academy graduates
The final quarter was time for Real Madrid's academy quality to come to the fore, as the new faces helped stretch the advantage beyond the 30-point mark. It was a five formed of Alocén (22 years old), Hugo González (17), Abalde (27), Ndiaye (19) and Diagne (16). The second put on his best display for the first team with 12 points (10 in the quarter) and a PIR of 12. It was a stunning team effort though, with 12 players getting on the scoreboard, seven in double digits for PIR (91-58, min.10).
