Llull: “It'll be a very tough final because UCAM Murcia will be highly motivated and excited”
“We have to be extremely focused on our job”, said the captain.
Sergio Llull gave his thoughts on the league final for Realmadrid TV. The captain complimented their opponents, UCAM Murcia, and highlighted how difficult the series could be: "This season we've been involved in very even and tough games. This final is going to be the same or perhaps even more difficult because they'll be highly motivated and excited. They'll be looking to make things difficult for us because when a team has nothing to lose, it's even more dangerous. We have to be extremely focused on our job and try to be ourselves in order to have any chance of winning this league".
“UCAM Murcia have won every away game in the playoffs, both in the quarter-finals in Valencia and in the semi-finals in Malaga. This says a lot about their character and how threatening they are on the road. For me their energy in defence and attack stands out. The defence is very aggressive and they run a lot. They're also strong in a crucial aspect of the game such as rebounding”.
Cumulative fatigue
“When you get to a final, what's gone before doesn't matter. You don't notice the fatigue as you're motivated to do well. We're in a good position, on a good run, full of confidence and focused on Saturday's game. We're pleased to be in this final and we're focused on rounding off a year that would be very good if we win the league".
