Real Madrid's basketball team won their second League trophy on 24 May 1958. Our team, who had won the first edition of the tournament the previous year, retained their title. Real Madrid were mathematically crowned champions in the penultimate game with a 34-97 win over Layetano in Barcelona.
The madridistas' record in the campaign read 16 wins and 2 defeats. Their 32-point total saw them finish ahead of Joventut (29) in the table. Coached by Ignacio Pinedo, Alfonso Martínez was the championship's top scorer, while Johnny Báez, club legend, had arrived that very same season.
