The win over Lenovo Tenerife was Chus Mateo's 100th as Real Madrid first-team coach. In his second season on the bench, he has already won three titles with the team: 1 EuroLeague and 2 Spanish Super Cups, while he boasts a 76% win rate.

Following victory at the Santiago Martín, the team's twelfth in a row this season, Chus Mateo reflected: 'We put in a very intelligent performance early on, controlling the opposition's strengths. We built up a significant, though not decisive, lead at a place like this where it's very difficult to come and play. We struggled to maintain the physicality after the break and they upped their energy and defensive efforts. Perhaps we were caught off guard a little bit but we reacted well and read the game nicely with two point guards.'

“It was a really good performance playing with our centers and we managed to build up a decent advantage at just the right time so we could see the game out without too much trouble. We had a strong grasp of how we wanted to play from an offensive perspective. What counts is being at the top come the end of the season. We have to value this as it deserves. I do appreciate the team's work, the effort they put into every game, and how they recover and are able to keep giving it their all to ensure we are competitive.'

Sergio Rodríguez
“He was vital today. When we were struggling, he helped Campazzo move the ball and between them they really started to make some great play. He scored two hugely important three-pointers. It's important for all of us that Sergio Rodríguez is in good shape and can help lead us towards the light when things look to be clouding over. He was brilliant.'
