A year after winning the European Cup for the first time, Real Madrid clinched their second continental crown. They did so 60 years ago in a two-legged final against CSKA Moscow. After losing 88-81 away in the first leg, the Whites claimed the trophy following a comfortable victory in the second leg (76-62), which was played in Madrid on 13 April 1965.

Despite a seven-point deficit going into the crunch game, the Madridistas were vastly superior to the Russian side. Emiliano (24 points) and Luyk (18) led Pedro Ferrándiz ‘s team to victory in a season when they also won the league and the Copa del Rey. The legendary coach thereby won the first of his four European Cups in charge of Real Madrid.
