Less than 48 hours since the win against Fernerbahçe and Real Madrid are back in action. This time it is in the league as they take on Valencia Basket at the WiZink Center 6pm CET, in round 10 of the season. Looking for their eighth consecutive victory this evening in both Euroleague and League, our team plays the first of three home games on the bounce Valencia, Monaco and Manresa.

Chus Mateo's team aims to repeat the good performances obtained in Istanbul against another tough opponent. Taronjas and madridistas are very familiar with each other. They last met on 22 November, with our team coming out on top at La Fonteta in a hard-fought game 73-80. The record between the two teams in the Endesa League is very much in Madrid's favour, having won 60 of the 88 clashes between the two teams.
Defence will be one of the main factors in today's duel. Valencia Basket concede on average 85.6 points, whereas our team has been showing its strongest side thanks to their good performance on the rebound. Chus Mateo's team lead with 38.8 per game and Tavares, Hezonja, Deck and Poirier all excel in this area all averaging more than 4 rebounds. The Cape Verdean is also a wall under the basket, ranking as the best shot blocker in the league.

Key players
Mumbrú's team is missing some key players, such as Van Rossom and Hermannsson, but Madrid can't be overconfident. Their opponents have one of the most valuable players in the national championship: Dubljevic. Alongside the Montenegrin, Chris Jones stand out. The point guard is performing brilliantly at the start of the season 15.4 points and an average PIR of 17.2. Our team, however, also has players of the calibre of Musa, Tavares, Deck and Llull in attack.
