Real Madrid and Lenovo Tenerife go head to head once again in the Copa del Rey semi-finals in a repeat match of last season’s clash, which saw our side run out 85-79 winners. This evening both sides meet at Granada’s Palacio de los Deportes 6:30pm CET and Pablo Laso’s charges will be looking to replicate last campaign’s cup win and reach the final for the ninth time in a row.

The Whites are fully aware of what is required to defeat Vidorreta’s side, as last year’s semi-final win will be fresh in their minds. However, having beaten Joventut in the quarter-finals, the Canary islanders booked their place in the semi-finals for the fourth time in the last five years 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 and will give Madrid a stern test. They have also had a consistent league season, which has seen the side pick up 11 wins from 19 matches.
This evening´s matchup will come down to the fine margins, and two of these aspects will be the pace of play and the defence, according to Pablo Laso. The madridistas produced a sublime defensively display against Breogán, with Tavares and Abalde, the standout performers in this area. At the other end, Madrid will have to be as clinical in attack as they were in the quarter-finals, when four players recording double-digit scoring in points and PIR Yabusele, Tavares, Abalde and Heurtel.

Lenovo Tenerife
Real Madrid’s opponents go into the Copa del Rey semi-final clash after edging past Joventut 62-64, spearheaded by Shermadini, who racked up 12 points, 8 rebounds and a PIR of 18. The Whites will also have to do their best to stop Tenerife’s long-distance shooters, as the likes of Wiltjer over 50% success rate in three-pointers in the league and Doornekamp pose a real threat. This will be another stern test for Madrid, who go in search of a win to book a place in tomorrow's final.
