Real Madrid bring a gruelling three-game week to an end this afternoon when they host Gran Canaria on matchday 15 of the Liga ACB at the WiZink Center. The madridistas top the league competition standings and Chus Mateo‘s men will be up against a side who are battling it out for a place in the Copa del Rey. Madrid have the disadvantage of little time to rest after their stunning victory against Maccabi in the EuroLeague on Friday.

This will be a tough game for the madridistas, who host the seventh-placed team. The Whites got back to winning ways against Maccabi +33 points and will be looking to consolidate their fine form in the league. Gran Canaria have lost four of their last five outings. In terms of previous meetings between the two sides, Madrid have claimed victory in 9 of their last 10. Chus Mateo will once again have Hanga available for this game after his return on Friday.
Madrid will be up against a solid side, with unity outshining individuality. Jaka Lakovic's charges are one of the teams that hit the most three-pointers per game 10.1 with an efficiency rate of 37.4%, two tenths of a point lower than the madridistas, who come into the clash after an exhibition against Maccabi with 18 three-pointers. Seven of their players are averaging between 8 and 11 points, with AJ Slaughter and Benite on the outside and Shurna, Inglis and Balcerowski in the paint. This is where they will encounter the likes of Tavares who is producing top form at the moment. The Cape Verdean has posted a double-double per game in three of his last four outings: 15 points and 12 rebounds against Bilbao Basket; 15 and 12 against Baskonia; and 19 and 11 in the Clásico. Musa 15.5 points and Yabusele 12.1, are Madrid's other attacking standouts in the league.

10 days on the road
From next week, Madrid will be facing four consecutive matches away from home. The day after tomorrow they will visit Crvena Zvezda and two days later, on Thursday, Alba Berlin. On Sunday they head to Granada in the league and on Friday 20th they play Olympiacos in Athens. But first, they must emerge victorious from today's clash to remain at the top of the standings
