Real Madrid surpass 100 goals for the season

NEWS | 11/02/2017 | Javier García

The Whites have netted an average of 2.9 goals across their 35 fixtures.
Real Madrid surpassed the 100-goal mark for the season at El Sadar, having now netted 101 times in the wake of the 3-1 away triumph. Isco, who struck the Whites' second goal, was the man to notch goal number 100. Madrid have averaged 2.9 goals per outing and have found the net in each of their 35 fixtures this campaign.

The side's goalscoring prowess is also evidenced by the number of players who have registered this term, with twenty of the 21 outfield players having got their names on the scoresheet. The goalscoring charts are, of course, topped by Cristiano Ronaldo, who - following his opener at El Sadar - has 21 goals to his name. The Portuguese forward is followed in these stakes by Karim Benzema and Álvaro Morata, who have notched 12 and 10 goals respectively.

Spread across each competition, the Whites have scored 54 goals in LaLiga, 16 in the Champions League, 22 in the Copa del Rey, six in the Club World Cup and three in the UEFA Super Cup. The highest scoring games were against Granada (5-0), Cultural Leonesa (6-1 and the 7-1 away win) and at Betis (6-1).
