Historic Goals: Raúl
In the 1998/99 season, the striker opened the scoring at San Mamés.
This week, in Goles con Historia, the star of the show is Raúl. The striker, one of the great legends of our club, stood out for his goals and his dedication. He came to the first team in 1994, after emerging from the youth academy, and ended his time as a Madrid player in 2010. He is the player with the most games in the history of Real Madrid and the third highest goal scorer.
In the 1998/99 season, Real Madrid visited Athletic in the fourth round of LaLiga. In the goal we are highlighting, Seedorf filtered a pass behind the back of the rival defense and Raúl, without letting the ball drop, shot first-time to the goalkeeper's right post. Real Madrid won the match 2-3 thanks to goals from Raúl, Mijatovic and Savio.
