An Arribas double hands Castilla the win

MATCH REPORT. 26/03/2023. Mireia Jiménez

Raúl's boys produced a fantastic performance to clinch their fourteenth win of the campaign against Linense.

Real Madrid Castilla enjoyed a fine win away from home, getting the better of Linense thanks to an Arribas brace on Primera Federación matchday 29. Our team went ahead inside 22 minutes, the midfielder unleashing a fearsome drive into the top corner.  Linense levelled on 31’ through Joao Pedro, but Arribas completed his double with a gorgeous chip (60’) to clinch all three points for the academy side as they remain in the play-off spots.

The early stages were evenly matched, with chances coming at both ends. Castilla could have taken the lead when Nico Paz's narrowly missed the target, before Álvaro's shot flew over the crossbar. The scoring was opened with 22 minutes on the clock, when Arribas smashed an incredible left-footed strike into the top corner from well outside the box. Linense then hit back through Joao Pedro just minutes later (31’).

In the second half, our team gradually began to take control of the clash, setting up camp in opposition territory. The madridistas' pressure eventually told, and Arribas pounced on a mistake from the hosts to dink a sublime chip over the goalkeeper from distance and make it two. Our boys looked to kill the game off completely and Arribas came within inches of his hat-trick but just failed to connect with Tobias' 80th-minute cross. Raúl switched things around towards the end, with Dotor making his return from an eight-week injury layoff. The scores remained the same until the end, an impressive victory for Castilla and their fourteenth of the campaign.
