A point for our team, who fought for the win until the very end, in their visit to Atlético.

Real Madrid earned a point in the Madrid derby in matchday 21 of the league season. Toril's side, unbeaten in fourteen games, were held to a draw by Atlético de Madrid in a match that saw them improve throughout, putting in a great second half performance. Misa and Maite Oroz became the first players ever to make 100 appearances for Real Madrid, while Linda Caicedo made her debut for our team.

Despite Madrid's dominant start, Atlético soon played their way into the game. Misa pulled off two fine saves to deny the home side. Toril's side had their chances shortly after. Linda's run ended with Toletti's shot flashing wide of the target and then Kenti Robles' shot flew over. Misa was again in action in the 35th minute to save our team with a great save in a one-on-one with Ludmila. Zornoza had another chance before the break with a shot that was just wide of the top corner.

Madrid went in search of a goal until the end
After the break, Madrid went up a gear and gained control of the ball, looking to take the lead. Weir went close as she tried to latch on to a punched clearance from Gallardo. Linda also saw a shot from outside the box go just wide of the post. Next, Athenea came close with a good chance that was kept out by a great save from the opposition goalkeeper. It was a tense affair until the end, but neither side could find the back of the net and the game ended 0-0.
