MATCH REPORT. 11/02/2023. Mireia Jiménez

Raúl's side took all three points at the Nuevo Arcángel thanks to first-half goals from Nico Paz and Peter.

Real Madrid Castilla won away to Córdoba on Primera Federación matchday 23. Raúl's men picked up three important points in their match against a direct rival at the top of the table. Goals from Nico Paz ('2) and Peter ('32) gave the reserve team the lead. However, Cordoba pulled one back before the break through Juan Villar. In the second half, both teams had clear chances, but the scoreboard was not to change. The Whites are still in second place and has extended its unbeaten streak to 17 matches.

It didn't take long for Castilla to take the lead at the Nuevo Arcángel. They did so in the 2nd minute, after Nico Paz got on the end of the rebound from his own shot off the post to make it 0-1. It was a good spell for Raúl's team against a rival that tried to overcome the counterattack by counterattacking. As a result, there was a double chance for the home team. However, it was Castilla who scored again from a great individual effort by Nico Paz, who supplied Peter who finished perfectly to extend Madrid's lead.

Chances
Six minutes later, Juan Villar took advantage of a slip-up by Castilla to shoot from the edge of the area and beat De Luis (38'). The pace at which the first half had ended was noticeably slower at the start of the second half. So much so that there were no chances until the 54th minute when Noel's shot hit the post. Shortly after, Jorge Moreno saved a shot by Tobias on the goal line. From then on, Córdoba took the initiative in attack in search of an equalizer, but Raúl's team stood firm in defense and also had chances to score, but the scoreboard did not move again.
