Carlo Ancelotti addressed the media in the press room at the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium. The coach gave his thoughts on the Club World Cup semi-final against Al Ahly: "A Club World Cup is a very important event, it means we've done well. We're very excited to be in a country where we've got a lot of fans. We have the chance to make them happy and to bring to an end what has been a fantastic season. It's a very good momentum for this season, where we've got a lot to achieve".
"Vini is the problem, his team-mates...? Vini has to defend himself, his team-mates have to defend him? Why? Apparently he seems to be the problem, but it's what's going on around him. It's a problem in Spanish football and for me, being part of Spanish football, I think it has to be addressed. It seems that Vini is the guilty party but he's the victim of something that I don't understand".
"They're a team full of history, one of the most important in world football. They are well organised with skilful players and it's going to be a competitive game. They want to win just as much as we do. We have a lot of respect for them, like everyone else, especially a club with such a strong history in African football".
Benzema, Courtois and Militao
"All three are in the squad because they could be fit for the match. We'll see, we preferred to leave them in Madrid to get the best treatment. We'll see if they're fit for Saturday's game".
"A club with such a history has obviously got fans behind the team. It's going to be an entertaining game. I think there'll be a lot of Madrid fans and everyone will enjoy a competitive game with two teams who are keen to play in the final".
Thoughts on Morocco
"We have received a lot of love from the Moroccan fans. The facilities are good, the weather is good... We're thrilled to be here. We'll be here for a week and it'll be even better if we return to Madrid with the trophy".
"We're aware that there are a lot of fans here and that makes us very happy. Hopefully everything will go smoothly. We have a lot of fans in Madrid, like in Morocco and in many other places, and this fills us with the excitement and desire to compete like we always do in every game".
Thoughts after the last game
"Demands are very high. We have to assess what is happening and what has happened. I still believe that the team is growing. We have had a defeat that was painful, but the indications are that the team is improving and that we have come to this point in the season with a very important trophy on the line, in a good physical condition. We've had injuries, but we're not the only team with injuries at this time because it's a horrible schedule. We have the confidence within the team that we're going to do well".
