MATCH REPORT. 04/02/2023. Mireia Jiménez

Toril's side beat Valencia with a hat-trick from Weir and goals from Esther, Zornoza and Kenti Robles.

Real Madrid picked up their second win of the week after thrashing Valencia away on matchday 18 of La Liga. Toril's players put in a scintillating performance at the Antonio Puchades to notch up their tenth consecutive win in the competition. Weir opened the scoring in the 19th minute. Marta Carro pulled one back for Valencia shortly afterwards (26'), but again the Scot (31') and Zornoza (43') scored for Madrid before the break. In the second half, Kenti Robles, Esther and Weir, who completed her hat-trick, sealed the win.

The game started with great intensity from both sides, although no one was able to create clear chances. The Whites, who were getting more and more of the ball as the game progressed, broke the deadlock in the 19th minute after a great move down the right flank. Toletti's back pass left Weir in a good position to beat the centre-backs and score her ninth league goal of the season. Valencia reacted quickly and equalised soon after through Marta Carro (26'). However, in the 31st minute, the Scot was again on hand to put Madrid back in front. Shortly before the break, Zornoza put The Whites on the road to victory with a strong finish from Weir's pass (43').
