Real Madrid kicked off their pre-season with a good performance as Alberto Toril's team beat Osasuna in the semi-final of the Copa Sentimiento with goals from Weir, Kathellen and an own goal. Our team have booked their place in the final of the tournament, where they will take on Real Sociedad (Sunday, 1pm CEST). The madridistas, came flying out of the blocks in the match marked by the debuts of Weir and Feller. The Scottish midfielder struck first, latching on to a rebound after Maitane kept out Nahikari's initial shot (12'). Our side continued to pose a threat and a shot from Nahikari was deflected into the net by Vera in the 26th minute.
After the break, Toril shuffled the pack with Toletti and Kathellen making their debuts. Osasuna soon pulled one back, however, when Alexia Jr. turned home a penalty (58). Real Madrid pressed forward and created two good chances. Maitane saved a close-range shot from Carla and, in the following move saw the home keeper once again keep out a shot from Paula (64th minute).
Madrid pushed forward and Athenea and Toletti both came close. Despite the impressive display by Osasuna's goalkeeper, it was another debutant, Kathellen who made it 3-1 heading home Esther's cross (81').
