NEWS STORY. 16/02/2022

The madridista shot-stopper kept out penalties against Valencia, Athletic and PSG.

In the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16, Thibaut Courtois once again demonstrated his quality from 12 yards. The Belgian ensured Messi would not open the scoring with a stunning stop with 62 minutes on the clock. Following his feat at the Parc des Princes, the madridista goalkeeper has now saved three penalties in a row.

Ahead of the Champions League encounter, Courtois had already stopped penalties against Valencia and Athletic. The first came on LaLiga matchday 20, when he kept out Guedes at the Santiago Bernabéu. He was at it again in the Spanish Super Cup final, stopping a Raúl García spot-kick to help the team lift the trophy.
